The Accounting Representative position is located at our branch in Pontoon Branch.
Role:
To support the financial management and operations of the credit union through the daily balancing and reconciling of bank accounts and ensuring accurate accounting records and reports.
Performs accounting duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures and under moderate supervision.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
50% Assists with all aspects of accounting duties related to general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, vendor disbursements, etc.
10% Posts to and balances general ledgers, researching and resolving differences within the prescribed time frame.
10% 10% Verifies accuracy, completeness and consistency of information received, including but not limited to member wire transfers, currency orders, etc.
Records expenses, reimbursements, and other payments.
10% Compiles segments of monthly closings and monthly reports.
5% Communicates with co-workers, management, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner to resolve common problems.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Bank Secrecy Act:
Remains cognizant of and adheres to the Credit Union's policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Expectations:

To keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education:
A two year college degree or more is desirable.
Interpersonal Skills:
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
Other Skills:
Must be able to type and operate a 10 key calculator by touch.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office products.
Strong verbal and written communication skills Can work independently and also demonstrated ability to work with others Physical Demands:
This position frequently requires you hear and use your fingers.
Occasionally, this position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, talking and lifting up to 20 pounds.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activates such as viewing details on a computer terminal.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
